It was an event fit for a king and a queen. Jan. 14 represented a stepping stone at Chase County High School. FCCLA and the CCS cheerleaders sponsored the school’s first Winter Ball that included royalty.

Cheerleaders asked Mr. Scheel to nominate three boys and three girls from each grade to be part of the royal court. The student body then voted for winners in each grade, with the senior winners serving as the king and queen of the court.

Tagan Mays and Destiny Reinke were honored as king and queen. Other winners were: freshmen, Mikael Kuhlmann and Austin Bernhardt; sophomores, Logan Mendenhall and Allison Owings; juniors, Will Kuenne and Kayla Schilke.

Students enjoyed a Friday pep rally where they watched the candidates play games, then danced the night away on Saturday.
