The FFA Chapter Sends More Teams and Individuals to State

On Jan. 29, several members of the FFA chapter competed in Leadership Development Events (LDEs) in Curtis, NE. At the district level, the following teams and individuals competed to advance to the state competition in April. 

In the Ag Demo contest, Carissa and Jaiden Hill placed first and are moving on to compete at the state convention. 

Two Conduct of Chapter Meetings teams competed. The first team consisted of all freshmen and placed first, moving on to state. The members of the first-place team were: Kade Anderson, Kaylie Lotspeech, Elizabeth Reeves, Madelynn Hanes, Molly Spicer and Peyton Dubas. The second team consisted of junior high members who placed third. The members of the third-place team were: Westyn Mendenhall, Malachi Christensen, Jason Nelson, Walker Mollendar, Jasmine, Brook Schilke and Kylee Wiest. 

Madelynn Hanes came home with a Red Ribbon after competing in the Creed Speaking event. 

Brooklyn Christensen took second place in the Employment Skills contest and is advancing to the state convention.

Jozie Schilke and Kayla Chavira both delivered the speeches that they have written. Jozie earned a Blue Ribbon in Sr. Public Speaking. Kayla also earned a Blue Ribbon in Jr. Public Speaking. 

Four junior high quiz bowl teams also had the opportunity to compete. Their placings were 1st, 3rd, 6th and 9th.  

This competitive day was an overall success for the Imperial FFA chapter.
