XC seasons

The 2019 Cross Country season has come to a close. The team worked hard this season. They started the season with a 2 mile practice meet in Dundy County on August 29, which both teams came home with a plaque. They then went to Cambridge which had the same outcome.

The home met proved successful for the teams. The girls had five in the top 15 and second place as a team. The boys had one in the top 15.  Caelyn Long, who placed 10th, said “Going into the meet, I felt very nervous and excited.” She also said,” that when everything was over she was relieved.”  The teams ran very well at McCook for having FFA in the morning and it being very hot.

The teams raced on September 26 in Ogallala  , and that course is the flattest they will run on this year, unfortunately no one placed,  and it is also the course they ran on for districts. They also went to Kearney on September 30, which is also the state course. Then they went to Grant for SPVA on October 10. Coach Carl Zuege said “ SPVA was a good day all around for both teams”. At districts the following week on October 17, the girls team took thirdbrought all six varsity runners to state on October 25.
