Scott and Caleb get pumped on the field.

The 2017 football season came to an end last Friday when the Longhorns where defeated by Chadron. The football boys have overcome many obstacles this year.

“We have improved a lot since our first game,” said senior Eli Hinojosa. “We are finally playing like a team; we are playing a lot better.”

When Eli was asked about his four years coming to an end, he said, “I have learned to overcome adversity. I’m gonna miss having a legal reason to hurt someone.”

This year the team is losing seven seniors.

Juniors Braden Space and Scott Wheeler agreed that these seniors have taught them many things in and out of football.

“Fight hard no matter what you are going through,” Scott said.

“Hosa has taught me toughness because of his dad and stuff. Just stay strong and keep your head high,” Braden added.

The season ended with five wins and four losses for the Longhorns.
